Navy Pier Fireworks CanceledThe City of Chicago has canceled its iconic Fourth of July fireworks show this 2021 Independence Day weekend (for both
Saturday July 3 and Sunday July 4) at Navy Pier. The reason offered is the "the previously unknown status of the COVID-19 pandemic in Chicago this summer and its impact on the Pier's ability to successfully plan for the large-scale celebration in advance".
Navy Pier resumes its normal Wednesday and Saturday fireworks shows on July 7 and 10, and through the Labor Day weekend.
Block Club Chicago has a list of other
celebration activities
you can do in Chicago to celebrate the 2021 Independence Day. Even without fireworks, let the Fourth be with you,
and visit Navy Pier for its Ferris wheel, and other cultural, dining, shopping and family attractions.
