The City of Chicago closes its popular free trolleys in 2009. Currently the only free trolley is the Navy Pier Trolley which runs only during the summer time with a limited route. On the other hand, there is a very convenient hop on hop off trolley to visit many Chicago landmarks, but you have to pay.
